Who we are
Cavern of Time is run by [legal entity] ([business ID]), [address] (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at contact@cavernoftime.app. These terms apply to every report you order from us.
The service
We sell one-off research reports. A report shows how Claude, the AI assistant made by Anthropic, recommends the products in your category to different kinds of buyer, and how that has changed from one Claude release to the next. Every answer is collected through Anthropic’s API without web access, so it shows what each release learned in training.
Each report is a single purchase. There is no subscription. The service is for businesses: by ordering, you confirm that you are buying for a business.
How an order works
- You give us your company name and website.
- We draft a checklist from your website and public sources: your category, your competitors, your buyers and the regions where you sell, each item with its source. You confirm it, removing or adding items. A report covers at most six buyers and five regions.
- We check the checklist, write the questions (we call them briefs) from it, and quote a price. Nothing is charged at this stage.
- If you accept the quote, you pay through Polar. Your order starts when the payment is confirmed.
- We put every brief to every Claude release on the report’s timeline, check every answer and build the report.
- We email you the report within [delivery window] of payment.
Price and payment
The price is set for each order and shown before you buy, at checkout. It is our estimate of what the answers your report needs will cost at the AI provider’s list prices, taken at the 99th percentile, multiplied by 1.5. Get a report explains how, with an example.
Prices are in US dollars. You pay once, in full, when you order. A quote is valid for [quote validity: N days]; after that we quote again, because list prices change and releases are withdrawn. The price you pay is the whole price of the order: we will not ask for more, even if the run costs us more than the estimate.
Polar (polar.sh) is the merchant of record for our sales. Polar takes your payment, handles VAT and sales tax, and issues your invoice and receipt, under Polar’s terms for buyers. Your card details go to Polar and never reach us.
Delivery
We deliver the report by email, as a PDF, to the address you give when you order, within [delivery window] of payment. If we cannot meet that, the Refunds and cancellation policy says what happens.
What the report is, and what it is not
The report is an analysis of how Claude models answer buyers’ questions when they have no web access: which products they recommend, to which buyers, for what reasons, and how that has moved over time. Each figure says how many answers it counts.
It is a record of what the models said. It is not advice of any kind, legal, financial, investment or marketing, and it does not predict what any assistant will say in future, or with web access. Answers vary from one asking to the next; the report states how settled they were, and a small difference may be noise.
We do not promise any result from using the report, such as more recommendations, more sales or a better ranking.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic or any company or product named in a report. Claude, Anthropic and every product and company name in a report belong to their owners; we use them only to identify them.
Your inputs, and how we use them
Your inputs are what you give us or confirm: your company’s name and website, your contact details and the checklist. You confirm that you may share them with us and that they contain nothing unlawful.
We use your inputs only to prepare, run and deliver your order, and to keep the records the law requires. To run the order we send the briefs, and the names of your company and its competitors, to our AI providers: Anthropic’s API, which answers the briefs, and typesafe.ai’s Jev, which classifies the answers. They receive no personal data. The Privacy policy has the details.
The briefs name no product and never name you. As between you and us, the answers they produce are ours, and we may use them in other work, including reports for other clients in the same category and our own published research. We never disclose that you ordered a report, or show your checklist or your report to anyone else, without your permission.
Intellectual property, and your licence
We own the report, our method, prompts and software, and the answers we collect. You keep every right in your inputs and allow us to use them to run your order.
Once you have paid, you may use the report inside your business without time limit, and share it with your advisers if they keep it confidential. This licence is not exclusive and you may not transfer it. Publishing, reselling or otherwise sharing the report, or any part of it, outside your business needs our written permission.
Confidentiality
We keep your inputs, your order and your report confidential. We share them only with the providers that run the order, as described above, and where the law requires it.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- present the report as Anthropic’s view or endorsement, or as any vendor’s ranking;
- change its figures and present them as ours;
- resell, sublicense or publish it, except as these terms allow;
- ask us to put questions designed to get round a model’s safeguards; or
- use the service in breach of the law or of Anthropic’s usage policies.
We may decline an order before you pay.
Liability
Our total liability to you for an order, whatever the cause, is limited to the price you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill. You are responsible for the decisions you make with the report.
Nothing in these terms limits a liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms by publishing a new version here with a new date. The version in force when you pay applies to that order.
Governing law
These terms are governed by [governing law]. The courts of [courts with jurisdiction] decide any dispute about them.
